  • EXPERIENCE

I am a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I received my MA in 2015 from Columbia College Chicago and have since practiced in a number of clinical settings including inpatient, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient, and private practice. My experience in these different structures has led me to realize my love for long-term therapeutic work and reinforced my commitment to social justice in therapy.

  • FRAMEWORK

Existing in liminal spaces - between what was and whats next - can be a time of great distress and discomfort. My goal is not to provide solutions to this experience but to help clients better understand it. I do this by working to create a safe space to express the emotions we often try to minimize. I work collaboratively with clients to explore the parts of their identities that have experienced oppression as well as the parts that hold privilege. Through traditional talk therapy and the use of body based modalities I work with clients to tell the stories of their lives, their ancestors, and their communities. My hope is that by offering a nonjudgemental holding space clients will gain the ability to sit in the discomfort, when it feels safe, and address it in ways that feel most meaningful to them. I believe in an anti-oppressive and intersectional feminist approach to working with clients and value our relationship as equals.

  • APPROACH

The clients I work with are the experts of their own lives and as a therapist I feel it's my role to be a collaborator, witness, and gentle guide in their process of empowering themselves. Being a dance/movement therapist I understand that our bodies hold the knowledge needed to heal. I encourage the clients I work with to bring their attention to the sensations they experience and explore how they tell stories of their lives, their ancestors, and their communities. I let clients guide me in what feels comfortable for their bodies and gently challenge them when words feel like they may not be enough. I understand that everyone's experience is unique and work closely with clients to ensure that their needs are being met in the therapeutic relationship.

  • COMMITMENT

A portion of revenue is redistributed to community mutual aid and social justice organizations including Chicago Abortion Fund and The Love Fridge.

Proudly in community with Inclusive Therapists to continue pursuing equity, justice, and liberation for all intersectional identities.

a little more about me

When I’m not in the therapy space I can most likely be found in my home sewing studio. I appreciate the juxtaposition of being fully present in connection within my therapeutic work and then being able to drop into my body, deeply in my creativity.

I also really enjoy spending time with my partner, our daughter, and our cats, adventuring out in my neighborhood to support my favorite small businesses, and being in nature. One of my life goals is to visit every national park.
